Oral Health Therapist

Alex commenced his career in dentistry in 2009, graduating from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Oral Health. Oral Health Therapists (OHTs) are dental clinicians who are dual qualified in dental therapy and dental hygiene. An OHTs duties include examination, routine dental treatment and preventative work on children and adolescents. This includes taking X-rays, fillings, fissure sealants and extractions of deciduous teeth. They are also able to stabilise and maintain gum health in patients of all ages, including those suffering from gum disease.

He extended his qualifications in 2016, completing a Graduate Certificate in Oral Health Science, and this has enabled him to provide general examinations and restorative care to our adult patients.

Since graduating, he has gathered valuable experience, practicing in many specialised areas of dentistry – paediatrics, orthodontics, prosthodontics, and implant dentistry. Alex has a real passion for restorative dentistry, and he also enjoys teeth whitening – he loves the difference creating a brighter smile has on his patients!

Alex is an important member of the Muller Road team, acting as a mentor to the hygiene team, supporting the dentists in their treatment plans and motivating his patients to achieve optimal oral health. His passion and enthusiasm for dentistry is contagious. We think you’ll love him as much as we do!
